Wisconsin at GBBC Blockchain Central DC
Carrying the state's creator economy and builder community into the Global Blockchain Business Council's flagship Washington convening.
In June 2025 the Wisconsin Blockchain Business Council represented the state at Blockchain Central DC, the Global Blockchain Business Council’s flagship Washington convening. WBBC was represented by its President, Maggie Schmidt.
A note on names, since they invite confusion: the Global Blockchain Business Council is a separate international organization. It is not a former name of this council, and WDBC is not a chapter of it.
Why a state council goes to Washington
The same reason it belongs to the North American Blockchain Association and partners with The Digital Chamber: most of what decides Wisconsin digital policy is not written in Wisconsin, and a council that only watches Madison finds out too late.
Nine months after this convening, Wisconsin’s own staking bill passed the Assembly. The arguments it turned on were the ones being rehearsed in rooms like this one.
